Project Next Gen

Packaging design for Bluebird Coffee Roastery’s 2025 Project Next Gen.

The brief:
“Every year we do a special release in collaboration with a long-term producer partner of ours, Volcan Azul, in Costa Rica. Alejo, the owner of VA, has a daughter that is the same age as Lily and a baby son. The project is about celebrating the next generation and bringing attention to the fact that Bluebird and VA are committed to sustainability and leaving a happy world for the next generation. 

This year, we’d like to create a cardboard sleeve around the bag. We want both the sides to be fully printed, so that when the customer opens up the sleeve there’s some info on the inside of it.

The theme this year will be a bit more mature than previous years but still fun; pastel pink and pastel blue, checkerboard pattern, bubble letters… The inside will have the coffee information, the Project Next Gen story, recipes, Bluebird story, and Volcan Azul story.”

Process:
Design template for packaging.
Design custom typography.
Develop colour scheme.
Puzzle everything together.
